Activities

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE
Please arrive a few minutes prior to your lesson and enter the room quietly so as not to disturb the lesson in progress. Start unpacking your instrument and get your books in order. Use this time to see what teaching is happening, you will pick up a lot by watching. Late entries will not be accommodated as it impacts students after. Please exit the studio in the same quiet manner. Parents must be in attendance in lessons, please take adequate notes or video footage of teaching to ensure you have a richer experience in your practice at home.

MISSED LESSONS
Let’s face it, this happens to us all. I am willing to make up lessons to a certain degree. I need a minimum of 24 hours notice, but understand that children fall sick very quickly. If you go away on holidays during term time then please endeavour to make up the lesson during term time. If you feel that you might miss too many lessons then please consider carefully before committing yourself.

GROUP CLASS
Group class is the opportunity to work with other children and play together. All levels are expected, this gives younger children the opportunity to be exposed to higher levels and the older students act as mentors. The class will go for 45 minutes and is held during term.
Friday Group Class: held at Scout Hall on Fordham Avenue. 430pm-5:15pm
Saturday Group Class: held at studio above cafe from 3:10pm-4pm Limited Numbers

SOLO/GROUPS CONCERTS
Solo Concerts are held in Term 1, 2, and 4. A group concert for the whole studio is held in Term 3. Venue locations and dates will be released closer to the time of the concert. All students are expected to perform.

CHARITY DRIVE
Every year in the January holidays we hold a charity drive where everyone comes to play violin and do games. Parents donate what they feel comfortable with and the proceeds will go to a particular charity that is child orientated.
